Favorite Aspect of Your Job
My favorite part of my job is to be able to emotionally support people. I became a therapist because I’ve experienced first-hand the importance of a good support network.
Now, I dedicate my life's work to being able to support others through their difficult moments. I strive to create an environment where people feel safe, supported and cared for while working through whatever they may be experiencing.
A little more information about Nicole
I am the owner of STAR Counseling Services and I love that my business allows me to be able to serve people in a way that is authentic. I have been working in the counseling field for over a decade and I have helped many people through a variety of life's problems and struggles. I am passionate about being able to support people in need and help them through whatever difficulties they may be experiencing in their life.
I understand the importance of having a strong support system and as a result I strive to make the therapeutic process as supportive as possible. However, this doesn’t mean we will shy away from doing the hard work.
My therapeutic style is eclectic so we will use a variety of treatment theories and modalities to be able to individualize the work to your needs. I have a casual, fun, direct and blunt personality and this is carried over into my therapeutic style. I often curse in session, incorporate sarcasm (when appropriate) and use humor as part of the therapeutic process.
Overall, I genuinely care about the work I do as well as the people I serve. I am looking forward to helping you create your ideal life.

LMHC
"I want you to know that you are in charge of your own treatment, and I am here for any type of support that you might need along the way."
Meet Meghan
My name is Meghan McCloskey, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Florida. I earned my master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling at Florida State University in 2012.
I have been working in the behavioral health field for over 12 years, in a variety of settings, including outpatient, residential, and in-home services. For the past 3 years I have been providing telehealth services in addition to in-person sessions, and I have found that telehealth services can be just as beneficial and the flexibility helpful for most clients.
My typical approach to counseling is client-centered and trauma-informed, in which I tend to incorporate Cognitive-Behavioral, Motivational Enhancement, and Solution-Focused techniques and strategies.
I want you to know that you are in charge of your own treatment, and I am here for any type of support that you might need along the way.
Together, we will process your concerns, identify potential goals, and develop a plan that you feel comfortable with. I am also here to provide you with a safe space for you to be yourself and to vocalize your feelings in whichever way you are comfortable.
